Los Naranjos, Honduras
Los Naranjos, Honduras – 2014. I was visiting Honduras for a Habitat for Humanity Global Village build near a town called Plan Grande which was a 45 minute drive from Santa Cruz de Yojoa. With the help of the Habitat Honduras staff we were able to visit a number of interesting sites in the general area of Santa Cruz de Yojoa. Los Naranjos Eco-Archaeological Park is an area of tropical broadleaf forest which includes the remains of a pre-Columbian city from 2,800 years ago. There are a number of trails through the forest including a raised boardwalk through some wetter areas along the shore of Lake Yojoa. Los Naranjos is located at 14° 54' 0" N/ 88° 3' 0" W. There is a small museum near the park entrance.
